Neelum exhibited her work in her first solo exhibition at NN Contemporary Northampton in 2016.. She wrote about her Conceptual Art Exhibition as:
From Matisse to Henry Moore, generic figures have expressed emotions, groups and situations. Being particularly inspired by Henry Moore figures in war situations, I have portrayed conceptual figures who are surviving in today’s modern world.
Could figures be strictly static and rigid to create abstract art; could repetitive art after Andy Warol, show overlapping to create powerful negative spaces; could Van Gogh’s palette be revived? These are some of the questions I have attempted to answer through conceptual figures exhibition.
